The Austria national football team is mourning the loss of Hans Buzek, who passed away at the age of 88. Buzek played 42 times for the Austrian national team and was twice top scorer for Vienna and Austria Wien. He made his debut in October 1954 at just 17 years and 161 days against Yugoslavia in the ÖFB jersey, which was a record for decades. Buzek was part of the 1958 World Cup squad in Sweden and became twice Austrian champion with Vienna and Austria. After his active playing career, he coached Badener AC from 1973 to 1977 and was sports director of Vienna. Hans Buzek was born on May 22, 1938, in Vienna, his parents come from Borský Mikuláš. He was a trained goldsmith. Buzek also played for Wiener Sportclub, Dornbirn, SK Rapid, and Austria Klagenfurt. He was twice cup winner with the favorites and twice top scorer with Vienna and Austria. The Austria national football team will always remember Hans Buzek.
