Austria's national team travels to face the Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Nations League on the back of a winning streak. The match at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin kicks off at 20:45 local time on Tuesday.
Austria have won their last two international matches, both by a 3-1 scoreline. Last Friday, Ralf Rangnick's side secured a home victory over Kosovo with goals from David Affengruber, Junior Adamu and Carney Chukwuemeka. Three days prior, they defeated Israel by the same margin thanks to strikes from Romano Schmid, Phillipp Mwene and Sasa Kalajdzic.
These results provide a confidence boost ahead of the trip to Dublin.
Unchanged lineup possible
Against Kosovo, Austria lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Goalkeeper Christian Zawieschitzky was protected by a back four of N. Veratschnig, Affengruber, Kevin Danso and Maximilian Wöber. The defensive midfield duo consisted of Xaver Schlager and Nicolas Seiwald. The attacking roles were filled by Patrick Wimmer, Paul Wanner and Schmid, with Adamu leading the line.
Rangnick may opt for a similar setup in Dublin. The squad is in good spirits, having scored six goals across the last two outings. The current squad list details all players available for the upcoming challenges.
Austria's next competitive fixture is the Nations League away game against the Republic of Ireland on 1 October.
